The Possibilities Are Endless

Well thank god tomorrow is the last day of July because not only does that mean it's PAYDAY but, it means I can lift my clothes spending ban and give in to that ever growing wishlist I've been making!

It's not been all bad though - whilst I didn't indulge in many new purchases, I dug deep in to my wardrobe and realised the potential of many of my staple items.

Take for instance this Forever 21 deep orange basic dress, the possibilities really are endless....

I'd also team this dress with my black bowler, some killer heels and clutch - perfect for a night out.

Next time I'm pining for some new clothes, I'll definitely take a closer look at what I already own.

VR Round Up 28.07.13

+ Keeping It Quiet - After last weekends festivities this week was pretty quiet, with only a few trips to the gym (well, swimming pool and sauna mainly to retreat from the humidity) and plenty of time catching up on sleep.

+ Quality Time - To my delight my mum booked a last minute trip up to Sheffield for an overnight visit. I took the day off work on Friday to spend some quality time with her and it was so lovely to have some time to ourselves. After catching up over coffee, we headed to the Odeon for some time with Hugh Jackman! In the evening, we sat outside in Leopold Square and sipped champagne before heading to Cubana for some incredible (and authentic) tapas (If you're ever in Sheffield, I wholeheartedly recommend a trip there). As my mum's train to London wasn't until early evening on Saturday, we indulged and headed to Spa 1877 for a day of relaxation and pampering. What more could a girl want?

+ Spa 1877 - I've been to Spa 1877 before (I talked about it here) but only for a one off treatment. However, this time I was treated to entire day of pampering. My mum booked us both in for the 'Turkish Delight' package - use of the spa facilities, lunch, full body scrub and Victorian Rose Ritual (which to you and me is a back, neck, shoulder and face massage with rose oils). I can honestly say I feel entirely rejuvenated and my skin has never felt softer and in keeping with the theme of relaxing, today has been spent doing just that!

Festival Season

Festival season is in full swing and whilst us Brits love nothing more than donning our wellies, cut offs and big old jumpers (considering the change of weather this is going to be obligatory), I've been seeing more and more of one particular items gracing our festivals....

The Kimono. Light weight, oversized and the perfect way to launch an outfit from dull to dazzling. Bring on PAY DAY!

Whilst we are on the topic of festivals, I attended Sheffield's very own inner city music fest - Tramlines - last weekend...I couldn't have really avoided it considering the action could be heard from my balcony.

Whilst it was all pretty awesome (well not the hangovers and waking up to go to work on Monday bit) a highlight was seeing Lianne La Havas live (and then coincidentally meeting her on a night out). I also heard that the fun mariachi band from the Doritos advert performed too...bit gutted I missed that. As always, I was abit rubbish on the photo front but here a couple snaps from the weekend...

+ Surprising Yourself - It's totally cliche of me to say but the good weather has put me in a fantastically wonderful mood which I'm really surprised by. I mean who doesn't love the sun? But when I arrived back from Turkey faced with an entire summer ahead of working, I really thought I'd be a bit of a misery guts. However, so far so good and I am actually really enjoying being in the UK (for now...).

+ What Weekends Are Made Of - This weekend (entire week actually) has honestly been perfect. My older sister took her first trip to Sheffield and with a mix of good weather, lots of cocktails and an array of good food (all thanks to Bloo 88 and Popolo), we had an absolute blast on Friday night!

My sisters boyfriend joined us on Saturday and we headed into the Peak District for some country air (ice cream, tanning and being scared of sheep-ing), we returned to Sheffield in time for a quick change and headed out for (more) cocktails, followed by a beautiful bistro dinner in the Botanical Gardens, followed by more drinking (I see a pattern emerging!).

Feeling a little worse for wear today, we headed to Tamper Coffee (I seriously recommend) for brunch and then pretty much cafe and vintage shop hopped for the remainder of the day. Before bidding farewell to them both this afternoon, we nabbed a place outside at Ego for some Mediterranean food. Having totally over indulged, I've now retired to my sofa where I plan to spend the rest of my weekend, relaxing and catching up on some of my favourite shows! BLISS!

+ Kicking Myself - I'm really annoyed with myself for not diving back into blogging since being back in the UK but I seem to have found myself in a slight rut...I hope it's just a phase and that lots of inspiration is heading my way!
